All around the world there are cultures that have figured this out and have created ceremonies to affirm the process of going from a boy to a man. Here in the U.S we have no such process. There are timeframes in which people assume that a boy has become a man. These would be there age, some would say when they turn 18 their legally a man. Are they? Some would say when the first engage in sexual intercourse this makes them a man. Are they?

This all comes down to your definition of MAN. In the link about we have provided the non-contradictory definition of MAN according to the word of God.  

In some of the upcoming articles we will lay forth a process by which we as believers in Christ can take our children especially the boys into manhood in a clear and precise way.

​A Man of Others
 

Once a man accepts that he can be wrong, something begins to open in him. He is no longer trapped in defending himself. He is no longer driven by the need to be right. And for the first time, he is able to truly see beyond himself.

​

A man who only lives for himself is still operating in the same pattern the world teaches—self-focus, self-preservation, self-promotion. Even if he improves, even if he grows, if it is all still centered on himself, then nothing has truly changed.

The shift must go deeper.

​

In Philippians 2:3–4, it is written: “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”
 

This is not a suggestion—it is a redefinition. A man is no longer the center. He becomes responsible for others. His thoughts, decisions, and actions are no longer isolated—they produce outcomes in the lives of others. What he says, what he does, what he chooses… it all becomes seed. And those seeds will grow.

Masculinity, in its truest biblical sense, is putting the interests of others ahead of your own—God first, then family, then country, and all those entrusted to you. Strength is not measured by what you dominate or gain for yourself, but by what you give, protect, and build for others.

​

The world rarely teaches this responsibility. It teaches men to chase what benefits themselves and measure success by what they gain. But a man of others measures success by what others gain because of him. His strength is not spent on self—it is directed outward with purpose.

​

He begins to ask different questions:

• “Is this good for those entrusted to me?”

• “Will this decision build or break what I am responsible for?”

• “Am I creating something from which others can grow?”​

​

This is the natural progression of manhood. Admitting wrong opens the heart. Seeing beyond self gives perspective. And understanding true masculinity directs strength outward to protect, provide, and serve.

A man of others does not disappear—he becomes more defined. His purpose sharpens. His thinking deepens. His actions become deliberate. He is no longer reacting to life… he is building through it in alignment with God’s design.
